Claire Harris Kramer, LMSW, M.Div., is a therapist at The Counseling Center at Belle Meade United Methodist Church. She offers inclusive, trauma-informed therapy to adults navigating anxiety, grief, religious trauma, chronic illness, and life transitions. Claire is passionate about creating a space where each client feels safe, understood, and empowered to heal with self-compassion.

Claire is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) with over a decade of ministry experience, including extensive work in pastoral care with both teenagers and adults. Her work as a hospice social worker has deepened her understanding of serious illness, end-of-life care, and the complexities of family support during times of loss. She has also worked in group practice settings, supporting individuals through depression, perinatal mood disorders, family conflict, and spiritual identity questions.

Claire’s clinical focus includes religious trauma, EMDR for trauma recovery, pregnancy and postpartum mental health, chronic illness, and support for LGBTQIA+ clients. She integrates traditional counseling with trauma-informed tools, helping clients gain insight into their patterns, reclaim emotional safety, and move toward healing and peace.

Claire earned her Master of Science in Social Work and Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee, and she is currently under supervision as a candidate for Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is trained in Level 1 EMDR Therapy and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Outside of her work, Claire enjoys traveling with her spouse, spending time with her daughters and Springer Spaniels, and being in nature with the people she loves.
